Calcium Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite (MCHA) is a calcium compound, containing minerals in their natural ratios, as well as residues of matrix, proteins, and glycosaminoglycans. MCHA supports bone mineral composition and can potentially reduce the risk of degenerative joint issues.
MCHA is raw bone prepared by a special low temperature process to preserve the protein content. The calcium thus provided is in an extremely bioavailable form. In addition, M.C.H.C with K1 and K2 may contain trace amounts of other beneficial minerals (such as phosphorus) that are naturally-occurring.
M.C.H.C with K1 and K2 has added boron. The body requires boron for healthy metabolism and is utilized in bone building. Some studies have shown that boron has mineral-conserving and hormone supporting actions that are helpful in women with low magnesium intake.
Vitamin D3 is added to support bone health since studies show that vitamin D mobilizes calcium and phosphorus, promotes intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphates, and increases kidney absorption of calcium of phosphorus allowing for higher blood levels of those minerals for use in bone building.
In addition, M.C.H.C with K1 and K2 supplies vitamin K. Several forms of vitamin K are used around the world as medicine such as vitamin K1 (phytonadione) and vitamin K2 (menaquinone). M.C.H.C with K1 and K2 provides both vitamin K1 and K2 which work with vitamin D to promote and support calcium utilization, which helps support bone formation.
However, because of its role in blood clotting, patients who have a problem in this area or who are taking medications to prevent blood clotting must carefully monitor their intake of vitamin K.
